PHILOSOPHY
The purpose of my work is to educate horses and help people understand the importance of their own intentions while working with horses. Besides good training of the horse, it’s equally as important that the people learn how to approach things when it comes to the horse. By having people understand their horses better, the relationship will grow.
Did you ever pay attention to how subtle horses can communicate with each other? How they like to spend their day? What motivates them? I learned most by observing the horses' language in the herd. When we face a 'problem' with a horse, a lot of times we try to solve that particular problem. But did you ever ask yourself; Can we work on the actual root of the problem instead of just trying to fix the symptoms?
I believe it's important to include people in the training process. I've seen many people left confused, after they got their trained horses back. The horse might be educated well, however for the owner it feels like a complete new language they need to learn.
Therefore, after a training period with a horse, I teach people how to work with their horse. I believe educating a horse and ourselves takes time and is an ongoing process. Therefore quick fixes and tune ups are not part of my services.
ABOUT
My name is Aimee Ryder and I'm the founder of Pure Horse. For the past four years I've been working and living in Montana, and I'm proud to call it my home. Born in 1990, and originally from the Netherlands where my absolute passion for horses once started. Even though I was not raised in a horse family, horse riding was a daily hobby for me as a child. This big love for horses never went away and only grew stronger when I learned about different ways of working in harmony with horses.
I studied a combination of horsemanship and dressage. I've been around the world studying different horsemanship approaches. Throughout the years I started to believe that multiple ways of working with horses can get us connected to the horse. There's not one way, and it's a constant process of evolving. I'm still learning each and every day of the horses, the teach me the most.
In addition to my horsemanship background, I was educated in the Academic art of riding (a type of dressage) and received my Human and Horse Academy instructor's license in the Netherlands. During this education I've learned about healthy biomechanics of a horse and how to make horses strong, flexible and agile (both in groundwork and riding). This durable type of training is meant to help the horse to find more self-carriage. However, educating a person on how to balance their mind and body, is equally as important. A horse can only be as good as its rider.
